Tired of 6.x GUI sluggishness while browsing client properties?

Most of us might have tried to ammend/check client properties. But the moment you click the client properties the GUI keeps processing and feels as if it will try till eternity. Every time you try to check a single property of client you have to face this slugishness and have to wait till all clients have loaded.
This usually happens because Symantec tried to apply their minds differently. They imagined we will use the GUI on a server which is in a local subnet of every client. But can this be possible always ?
So to overcome this slugishness we need to change some settings
Close all the java consoles.
Amend the java console configuration file present at
WINDOWS ……\veritas\netbackup\java\setconf.bat
*NIX /usr/openv/java/nbj.conf
Locate the “FORCE_IPADDR_LOOKUP” line and disable it .
WINDOWS SET FORCE_IPADDR_LOOKUP=0
*NIX FORCE_IPADDER_LOOKUP=0
Restart the GUI and you will be amazed………
